By all accounts the OW2con'11 program was first class! Congratulations to all the speakers and attendees who contributed to making the event a success. We are proud of what you presented, displayed and demonstrated.
A word on our theme Open Source: the Innovation Drive. This is what we wrote in the printed program distributed in the OW2con attendee bag: "After ten years of catching up with proprietary software in commoditized enterprise computing segments, 2011 saw open source taking the lead in cloud computing innovation. The live demonstration by two OW2 members showing a cloud broker interacting with heterogenous cloud computing infrastructures is one of those defining moments in which whole industries measure their progress." Check out the CompatibleOne press release here.
We're already looking forward to seeing you at next year's OW2con! See the link here for photos, and here for presentation videos and slides. If you were able to attend, please share your feedback with us via our brief online survey here.
Next newsletter, we'll look back on 2011 and anounce our priorities for 2012. In the meantime, we are particularly pleased to welcome new OW2 Corporate Member Epignosis who joined us from Greece; they are a testimonial to the dynamism of open source software growth in these uncertain times and they exemplify the evolution of the OW2 code base toward application platforms.
Thank you for your on-going support,
Cedric Thomas
PS: Project leaders: Do not forget to use the OW2 Forge to tell everybody about your project updates. News will appear on the OW2 forge, our home page and in this newsletter
