April 2010 Newsletter
OW2 Newsletter - April 2010 - From the OW2 Management Office
Dear OW2 Members, Dear All,
Our high point this month will be the results of the election of our new board members. The ballot is open until Sunday April 12, midnight CET, so if you haven't voted yet there is still time. Vote NOW! We have over 30 topics for our 2010 OW2 Programming Contest. Contestants should register now here and sponsors are still welcome to check our (very affordable) sponsoring packages. Pleade submit your topics here, until April 18. We had a busy community and marcom schedule last month: the minutes of the meeting of the Technology Council are here, those of the Board of Directors here, and the links to all the presentations of our conference track and the pictures of OW2 at Solution Linux are here.Last but certainly not least, both the Technology Council and the Board of Directors agreed that Cloud Computing represents a strategic opportunity for OW2. Indeed, there will be no open cloud without open source middleware for the cloud. We started an internal discussion, code named JetStreaml, see the presentation here, and we decided to launch a new Initiative dedicated to combining our open souce software cloud-oriented community assets. The OW2 Initiative will help define the future of open source cloud computing. Watch this space.
