OW2 Newsletter - May 2010 - From the OW2 Management Office
Dear OW2 Members, Dear All,
Our high point this month is the launch of the OW2 Open Source Cloudware Initiative.
On May 5, we announce the OW2 Open Source Cloudware Initiative lead by strategic members Bull, France Telecom and INRIA. We believe this is a unique community effort that will help define the future of open source cloud computing. Indeed, there will be no open cloud without open source middleware for the cloud.
Check the OW2 Open Source Cloudware Initiative page here. As we explain in the press release, the Initiative is based upon a
bedrock of OW2 projects providing open source solutions for on-demand, scale-out capabilities with overall capacity optimization - the foundations of cloud computing and complex information systems.
The 2010 Programming Contest is open: contestants should register now here and sponsors are still invited to check our sponsoring packages. This year, along with the programming contest, we are organizing a business networking meeting for Chinese and International participants. Join us in Beijing, September 21 (more).
This year the Annual Conference will be held October 13-14 in Paris, France. All info posted and regularly updated here. Save the date!
A quick reminder to project leaders: use the OW2 Forge to tell everybody about your project updates. News will appear on the OW2 home page and in this newsletter! Do not hesitate to write to us if you need help, we are here .
Thank you for your contributions,
Cedric Thomas PS: follow and contribute to OW2 on Twitter and LinkedIn.
