[OW2 Newsletter - January 2013 - From the OW2 Management Office]
Dear OW2 Members, dear All,
First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, peaceful and prosperous 2013.
Looking back on 2012, it was another year of progress for OW2. We recruited seven new members and accepted 11 new projects in our code base, we installed new multi-processor machines to offer our projects a cloud sandbox for their tests and demonstrations, we completed our Software Quality Assurance and Trustworthiness
(SQuAT) quality program which will provide a unique advantage to our projects, we started two new collaborative projects, OCEAN on cloud computing and RISCOSS on software engineering quality, we successfully organized our first Brazil roadshow
and again the China Open Source Week. And, last but not least, all the presentations at OW2con'12, our annual conference, were broadcast live on the internet and are now available on the event web page here.
Looking forward to 2013, OW2 is well positioned to help its members take advantage of the growing open cloud computing segment; we will benefit from the financial stability provided by the collaborative projects, and we will provide more value to our members through the improvements we will bring to the governance of our community projects.
I take this occasion to express my personal gratitude to all in the Management Office for their dedication and efforts. I would also like to thank our board members and our new President Xinhai Jin for their support and guidance throughout 2012.
Wishing you once again a successful and peaceful 2013.
PS: Project leaders: Do not forget to use the OW2 Forge to tell everybody about your project updates. News will appear on the OW2 forge, our home page and in this newsletter
