[OW2 Newsletter - January 2024 - From the OW2 Management Office] Dear OW2 Members, dear All, First, let me and all the team wish you a happy and fruitful 2024! This new year opens with many opportunities to fund your FOSS project or digital common: the NGI Search project has its 4th open call open, NGI0 Commons fund open calls starts on Feb. 1st, and the French administration launched the "BlueHats Prize" with 10k grants to help maintainers of critical free software they use. On OW2 community side, we are pleased to welcome a new member: Linagora, a well-known French service provider for maintenance, assurance, audit and consulting of Open Source software, with a strong focus on AI and LLMs. Plus a new project, brought by Orange: UUV, and end-to-end application testing framework with accessibility focus. And our coming (free) events are on their way: OW2Con'24 (Paris, June 11/12) CfP is open until Feb. 25, so it is time to apply, and we are happy to welcome high-level keynote speakers: Thierry Carrez (General Manager at OpenInfra), Stefano Maffulli (OSI Executive Director), Patrick Masson (Executive Director at Apereo), and Frank Karlitschek (CEO at Nextcloud). You may also be interested by sponsorship opportunities! More local (and French), AlpOSS takes place on March 21 at Echirolles City Hall, close to Grenoble in the French alps, in cooperation with our member Linphone/Belledonne Communications and the city of Echirolles. Local FOSS actors may apply as speaker and/or sponsor. So, if there is just one point to keep in mind: 2024 will be for OW2 the year of open source and open commons funding... One more good reason to come and meet us at events, join as members to support us, and stay tuned! Thanking you so much for supporting open source, Pierre-Yves Gibello PS: Project leaders: Please use your project dashboard to publish your updates. Your news will appear on our Project Marketplace home page and in this newsletter.
