\[OW2 Newsletter - October 2008 - From the OW2 Management Office]\
Dear OW2 Members,
We are pleased to welcome Ingres, who joined OW2 in September as a Corporate Member (http://www.ow2.org/xwiki/bin/view/PressReleases/IngresjoinstheOW2Consortium). Among other commitments, Ingres plans to actively contribute to developing the OW2
BI Initiative.
This month at the Management Office, our priority is the preparation of two upcoming major technical events organized by OW2; please save the dates and tell us if you want to give a presentation: - OW2 TechDay as an associate event of the Open World Forum, in Paris, December 1-2, 2008. - OW2 Annual Conference, which will be co-located with the Solution
Linux trade show in Paris on April 1-2, 2009.
Now we need your support to develop the Consortium's visibility, it's about time we create the global buzz on OW2. With its origins in the
Alps, OW2 is now a global community with centers in Europe, China and
Brazil and some 1,000 individual members all over the world including
North America, India and Africa. But by and large we remain the best known secret in the industry. As a community, we
rely exclusively on our members, i.e. you! Many of you are bloggers; we need you to spread
the word about OW2: we are a community, we have state-of-the-art
technology and industry-grade software and all of it freely accessible at
www.ow2.org
Thank you for your support, we look forward to hearing from you,
Cedric Thomas
