[OW2 Newsletter - December 2024 - From the OW2 Management Office] Dear OW2 Members, dear All, Back from "Open Source Experience" (OSXP) in Paris, we are happy to announce a new member joining us: eXo Platform, a well-known open source digital workplace solution! And we are already thinking of the next events: do not forget our Open Source Webinar, on Dec. 12, featuring the BlueMind collaborative messaging alternative to Microsoft Exchange and 365, and a NGI Search funding beneficiary success story, SpareCores - a cloud VM benchmarking and comparison site. Then the French public may think of meeting us at the Echirolles city hall (near Grenoble, in the Alps): 2nd edition of AlpOSS - February 20, 2025 - co-organized with the City of Echirolles and our member Linphone: note we still have a few sponsoring opportunities! On the FOSS funding side, the NGI0 Commons Fund has recently unveiled its first batch of beneficiaries: among them, Panoramax - an alternative to Google Street View, initiated in 2022 by Open Street Map and the French geographic institute (IGN), Open Food Facts - the nutrition facts open database, and some famous FOSS projects like Decidim or Collabora. But also smaller initiatives, from SMEs or associations: so do not hesitate to apply and take a chance to get funded! Wishing you, in advance, a Merry Christmas, The OW2 Management Office PS: Project leaders: Please use your project dashboard to publish your updates. Your news will appear on our Project Marketplace home page and in this newsletter.
OW2 is happy to welcome back eXo Platform in the community. With its secure and open source digital workplace, eXo Platform offers an opportunity for European sovereignty with a free alternative to GAFAM. Read the French press release.
