[OW2 Newsletter - January 2025 - From the OW2 Management Office]

Dear OW2 Members, dear All,

All the team at OW2 wish you and your families a happy, successful and healthy new year!
With a warm welcome to our new member, eXo Platform.

Now let me start with the hottest news: OW2Con'25 takes place on June 17/18 (in Paris - Châtillon Orange Gardens), the CfP is open until Feb.23. We are expecting promising keynotes - the 1st one confirmed by Yann Lechelle (CEO at :Probabl).
It is also possible to sponsor OW2Con, and quite cheap compared to similar events: packages start from 1 kEUR, up to 8 for Platinum. Pick the one that best fits your communication needs, it is for a good cause - making OW2Con free for all visitors!

This year, more than ever, OW2 focuses on events to disseminate open source, and the value we can bring - particularly across the NGI0 Commons European funding programme: the 2nd batch of 50 beneficiaries is now public, and there will be rolling open calls all over 2025, so do not hesitate to apply and fuel your open source project or digital common!

The closest opportunity to meet us (at least for French people) is AlpOSS, on Feb.20, co-organized by OW2, the City of Echirolles - who hosts the event at the City Hall - and our member Linphone. We will also join the Brussels open source week, including FOSDEM, OFE's EU Open Source Policy Summit, and the new European Open Source Awards Ceremony.

Last but not least, OW2 will shortly unveil a new local event in Sophia Antipolis (Nice, southern France), in partnership with Telecom Valley and our member Huawei. We expect it mid-May 25, stay tuned!

Wishing you again a happy New Year,

The OW2 Management Office

PS: Project leaders: Please use your project dashboard to publish your updates. Your news will appear on our Project Marketplace home page and in this newsletter

  • If you haven't yet watched the PrestaShop last Live Update video maybe now is a good time to catch up. Also worth reading is a blog post that gave you an in depth look at the PrestaShop new UI kit.
  • XWiki version 16.0.2 is not just a patch release with a set of bug fixes (including security) but it is also the beginning of 16.10.x as the LTS branch. So if you want to benefit from the latest features of XWiki and get a stable release this version is a good candidate for an upgrade!
  • In December Lutece publish the version 7.1.0. This version comes with a security header management admin feature but also a long list of improvements and bug fixes.
