Dear OW2 Members, dear All,
If you've visited our home page recently you will no doubt have seen the countdown for our 90-day plan. Launched by the OW2 Management Office and the Board of Directors, the plan is designed to steer OW2 through the chasm and into the mainstream. From a quantitative perspective, our objective is to secure additional strategic support—signing new strategic members, developing donations and in-kind contributions, etc. We are now mid-way to our objective. From the qualitative perspective, the aim is to complement OW2's positioning as a platform for collaborative R&D projects with a market-oriented value proposal tailored to our more business-minded members. The 90-day plan is an opportunity to rethink the entire OW2 strategy; all options are on the table! If you can help, if you have ideas, don't hesitate to send me a mail. All contributions welcome!
We'd like to take this opportunity to go one step further by reproducing in other areas our successful positioning in the cloud computing arena. Our support for collaborative projects such as CompatibleOne, OpenCloudware, XLcloud, CHOReOS and OCEAN, our recently launched Open Cloud Forum series and our presence at first-class events such as Cloud Expo Europe and Cloud Computing World Expo are all effective ways to create opportunities for our members.
On another note, we have now launched the OW2 programming contest and, due to the 90-day plan, the start of the election process has been put back one month.
Thank you for your on-going support,
Cedric Thomas
