October is the Cybersecurity month, a very good reason for OW2 to select Deming as the open source software of the Month. Deming is an intuitive tool designed for managing, planning, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of security measures. In line with ISO/IEC 27001:2013, Chapter 9, it helps organisations to ensure appropriate and proportionate security, in compliance with the most demanding standards.
About Deming
The open source program, distributed under the GPL licence, enjoys a growing adoption as more users are integrating it to monitor and manage the security controls of their ISMS (Information Security Management System). Recently, a key feature joined the software, as Deming can now import several repositories. Compatible with ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST 800-53, MPA-5.2, NIS2 and DORA, the flexibility of the tool is reinforced, allowing its fast adoption in diverse security environments.
What explains such a success? Unlike its competitors:
- Deming is not hosted in a cloud
- Deming does not require five days of training to start using it
- the users are not contacted by a consultancy firm, and
- it is totally free and open source.
