Paris, 2 October 2014. During one week, from 30 Oct. to 7 Nov. 2014, Paris will be right at the heart of the open source world. The first Open Source Week, will illustrate the growing influence of open source technologies in the IT industry at large, from open hardware to software engineering, cloud computing and data centers.
France is a leading country in open source software adoption and contribution. The annual turnover for the French open source software market will be 4 billion Euros in 2014, of which roughly 1/3 is concentrated in the Paris Region. More that 100 pure players in open source, open hardware and open data are located in Paris and its region.
